KOZHIKODE HOSTED THE MALABAR WORLD KAYAKING CHAMPIONSHIP
The quiet and small hamlets of Kozhikode are ready to create some noise and folks here are getting ready to have their adrenaline pumping by hosting the Malabar river festival. The most recent edition will feature ‘The Malabar World Kayak Championship’, which will be held from July 26 to 28. The tourism Department is organizing this event beneath the tutelage of the Kerala adventure tourism Promotion Society, and Kozhikode District Tourism Promotion Council.
This far-famed kayak championship is going to be hosted on Iruvazhinji and Chalippuzha Rivers. The aforesaid competition will be held in 3 classes, i.e., Extreme Race, Boat Race, and Giant Slalom. The winner of this championship will be awarded INR ten lakh. As per the most recent news reports, it’s expected that over fifteen international kayakers and seventy-five Indian kayakers could be competing in male and female categories.
